Let me start by saying Greetings to any and everyone that takes the time to visit my blog site.  I came up with my site name several days ago while substitute teaching a wonderful 5th grade class.  Since they were working on metaphors, I asked each student to recite a metaphor they had learned at home that relates to achievement.  One young man stated that his grandfather always says, “hitch your wagon to a star.”  I loved it!

So, here I am today, embarking on new territory.  Blogging!  I really embraced the idea while watching Julie & Julia.  It is actually a phenomenal concept.  My hope is to express myself in a variety of ways.  And in turn, befriend others by sharing similar and even dissimilar interests, opinions, foresights, etc.

Now, a few more specifics about me.  Currently, I am a graduate student at the University of Georgia.  One might ask, why is this important or worth mentioning?  It is important because I am a middle age women attending a major university amid thousands of students still in their twenties.  Conversely to my initial expectations, I have been welcomed with open arms and a lot of warmth.  So from time to time, I will blog my experiences which I hope will encourage and inspire others to bite the bullet, so-to-speak.  I have two children; both of whom are in college also.  Creatively, my hobbies abound.  I enjoy knitting, cooking, gardening,  traveling, making jewelery, sewing, decorating especially around holidays, church, and mingling.  I am socially very conscious and concerned about many  of societies problems.
